It appears Beatrix got her hands on my new camera. She loves taking pictures. Not too long ago, she took random shots of the ceiling and lots of blurry pictures that I end up deleting. But when I looked at these photos I thought She has such a great perspective. I think they’re artsy. For a three-year-old.
Remember when you were young and everything was huge and so out-of-reach?
That’s me. In my pajamas. With flour and snot and spit-up on them. I think it was about 6 PM.
I just love how close she gets to everything. I had to look at this for a while until I realized it was her calendar.
Milo’s hand. I wonder what he was pointing to?
Maybe he was pointing to the sun shining in the bright blue sky? Or this vinyl chair in the playroom. (I guess the camera strap gave it away.)
Wooden trains and blocks. A little blurry, but a nice composition nonetheless.
I love these old-timey magnets on our fridge. Too bad she didn’t get a picture of the one that says “G begins girl who sweeps the floor.”
What do we have in our house with this print? I had to search around to figure it out. It turns out it’s a chair in our computer room. When I looked closer I saw not only swans, but buffalos, eagles, roosters and flowers. I never liked the chair before. Now I find it interesting.
Each day as Beatrix grows, I gain new perspective as I look at the world – her world – through her eyes.
Aren’t children amazing?
Thanks for humoring my sappy side. That was fun!
A new post is coming soon. I apologize for the delay. So much for my once-a-week goal!

I love these pictures! Through the eyes of a child….we all should be doing this as a reminder that they are wonderful and creative and thoughtful and funny! They are little people not our robots. I gave my child the camera once while blueberry picking – to keep her busy when she was DONE picking – and we now have a great snapshot of my butt crack peeking out of my shorts. I kept it in the album amidst the others as a reminder of her uniqueness and my normalness:)

The posting is very interesting. Beatrix might become a well known photographer one day. Love the magnets. They so remind me of when my children were young. They’re all grown now, but thanks for bringing back happy memories.

I love that you used to dislike the chair but now find it interesting, and all because of her close-up photo of it. Seeing things from a kids perspective is such a gift!

I just love the pictures! I find it so interesting that you didn’t know what the print was…on that last picture. Oh to be three again. Make sure your legs are shaved this summer…she may get that camera out again!

What a great post. Those are fantastic pictures! Perhaps its time for a camera of her own? (older used digital one)

We bought her a digital camera for Christmas, but when we opened the package we realized it didn’t have a viewfinder screen, so we returned it. I would love to give her our older digital camera…but I broke it (which is why we got this new one). We’ve been on the lookout for a (cheap) kid-friendly digital camera.
